EIM the Next Generation, the journey with Machine

In today’s Digital World all Governments and Enterprises require solutions that are global, secure, and scalable, and that provide a device agnostic user experience. How and where solutions are deployed is complex requiring adaptable deployment configurations, with Hybrid (on premise and cloud) being the fastest growing approach to meet today’s complex requirements. If digital transformation is to deliver on its promise of improved efficiencies, improved customer service, and new business models that distribute innovative sources of value, then EIM is the Digital Platform to support Human and Machine-based solutions that deliver value to our customers.

The Journey to Cloud 2.0 in EIM

80% of all enterprise data still sits behind the firewall. So, despite being around for the last 10+ years, the notion of Cloud has barely created a dent in the overall content in the enterprises globally. It’s 2018, but it’s still safe to say its early days of cloud. Cloud is not just a delivery model. It’s a culture and mindset. It’s a new way to solve old, persistent and messy business problems. Cloud is changing the way our customers do business. Its making them into technology companies that just happen to be in the retail, transportation, public sector or logistics business. It’s digitizing their businesses. In this talk, we’ll talk about the trends in the market for cloud adoption for enterprise workloads, applications and services. What are the challenges, opportunities and best practices for migrating from on premise to cloud, doubling down on cloud and thriving in a “hybrid” world of cloud and on-premises. We’ll close with advances in the OpenText Cloud, examples from Release 16.4 and other initiatives for Cloud products – managed services, containerization, SaaS and smart apps from OpenText that are accelerating this digitization journey for our customers.

With this in mind, join a discussion panel with independent Public Sector experts for an assessment of this year’s most tangible digital trends including:

Disruption or Transformation? Two sides of the Same Coin for Manufacturers

Whether digital – Industry 4.0 or smart manufacturing – or Geo-Political – Brexit or GDPR – disruption is everywhere for manufacturers. In a sector that can be slow to change, this can be a major challenge. For those that seize it, this disruption is an opportunity for transformation. It enables organisations to re-define how they operate to improve processes and customer relationships while introducing entirely new product lines and revenue streams. At the heart of the modern manufacturer is data. Data has become the currency of business and - with Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things - data is growing at a velocity that is unprecedented with the automotive industry being an example of this perfect storm. Releasing its value through transforming data into insightful information is where the leading manufacturer will win. This presentation will touch on the key challenges of turning disruption into transformation and point to how Enterprise Information Management can help smooth the journey for Manufacturers.

Overview and a path to compliance that offers added benefits

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) becomes enforceable in May. It will affect every organization that collects, processes, or stores the personal data of European Union residents, even if the organization doesn’t have a formal presence in the EU.

For many organizations, attaining GDPR compliance is being viewed as a resource-hogging mandate to modify processes and avoid extensive fines. But what if they took a different approach? Meeting the new GDPR requirements is also an excellent opportunity to review, stress-test, and improve their overall information security and governance infrastructure.

This session will explain the GDPR, while also discussing why compliance is as much about benefits and opportunities as it is penalties and fines. We’ll be outlining a path to compliance that allows organizations to improve the real business value their information offers.

By the end of this session participants will:
  • Understand the key requirements and impacts of the GDPR
  • Discover opportunities to improve competitive advantage under the GDPR
  • Learn 10 steps toward compliance organizations can take immediately
